Automatic Flat Steel Punching And Tapping Machine Streamlines Stove Ring Production

Zhao's Machinery has added an automatic flat steel forming machine that punches and taps in a single pass. Flat iron strip in carbon steel or galvanised steel is fed, punched, tapped and cut without leaving the machine, removing the two-machine handoff that normally sits between the punch press and the tapping station.

Punching And Tapping In One Pass

The unit combines hydraulic punching with thread tapping on the same platform. Holes and threads are produced in one continuous cycle, so hole position and thread depth are set by the machine rather than by operator handling between operations. For parts such as stove rings and hardware brackets, that means fewer re-clamping errors and a consistent fit at assembly.

Counting is handled inside the cycle, so batch quantities are set once and confirmed by the machine. After cutting, finished parts are discharged automatically, which keeps the operator out of the forming area and allows one person to run more than one unit.

Built For Repeatable Output

Moulds are cut from 40Cr and hardened to HRC 50–60, which keeps hole edges clean over long production runs. Hydraulic power comes from a 5.5 kW Fujian Sanye motor, and the four upper and lower rotating shafts hold the strip flat through forming and rolling so the finished part stays straight. Coiling diameter is held within ±0.5 mm, and the PLC plus HMI lets the operator switch between manual inching for setup and full automatic mode for production.

Because the machine is built to customer drawings, punching patterns, tapping positions and ring diameters can be specified per part family. That makes it practical for workshops that run several ring sizes on the same line.

The automatic flat steel punching and tapping machine is supplied from China on a 380V 50Hz configuration, with standard export packing and a minimum order of one unit.
