Foshan-based spring machinery maker Zhao's Machinery has introduced a CNC cotton can spring machine built specifically for the textile industry. The unit produces the support springs that hold cotton yarn inside weaving bobbins — a component that has to keep its shape through high-speed winding, packing and repeated handling on the mill floor.
Rather than reworking a general-purpose coiler, this is a dedicated industry unit. Wire from 4 mm to 12 mm, in ordinary carbon steel or stainless steel, is formed into multi-shape springs with repeatable pitch, diameter and lug geometry. Because the wire path, tooling and CNC profile are fixed for this family of parts, changeover time and scrap stay low while output remains stable across shifts.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Model | Non-standard cotton can spring machine |
| Wire diameter | 4 mm – 12 mm (up to ≤ 12 mm) |
| Max wire feed command | 10,000.00 mm |
| Feed resolution | 0.01 mm |
| Max wire feed speed | 50 m/min |
| Feed length | Unlimited |
| Control system | Topcon CNC |
| Program storage | More than 2,000 sets |
| Input voltage | 220V / 380V / 415V / 440V |
| Machine dimensions | 4000 × 1800 × 2000 mm |
| Machine weight | Approx. 3,000 kg |
| Suitable wire | Ordinary carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire |
| Application | Cotton can / weaving bobbin support springs |
Each axis is driven independently, so pitch, diameter and lug position can be corrected in the program instead of by hand-adjusting tooling. That matters in bobbin spring production, where a small drift in pitch shows up immediately as yarn tension variation during winding.
The cotton can spring machine is built to order in Foshan, China, and ships from a Chinese port. Mills that already run Topcon-controlled coilers can standardise on the same control platform across their spring lines, which simplifies operator training and spare-part planning. Detailed drawings, tooling lists and production samples are available on request so buyers can validate spring geometry before placing an order.
For spinning mills, weaving plants and bobbin manufacturers looking to bring support-spring production in-house, this dedicated CNC unit offers a targeted alternative to general-purpose coilers that require constant re-setting.
